 Synopsis

This book is aimed at primary level and it’s purpose is to engage children, have fun with words and to encourage more developed vocabulary in their own writing. The Write Honourable Wilberforce Word Worm from the Ministry of Words introduces the book and is visible throughout the pages. Each spread adopts a selection of interesting words (some less widely used) which visually express the genre of words eg scary words, delicious words, loud words and some just daft silly words to amuse the reader. The book opens and closes with hello and goodbye words from different languages. At the back there is also a spread which encourages the reader to colour in their favourite words and also a dictionary explaining the meanings of all the words contained within the book. The art style is mixed collage, stamp and hand drawn lettering to encourage further creativity and pleasure in using words.
